Hansika Motwani is an Indian film and television actress who predominantly appears in Tamil and Telugu films. She is also seen in Hindi and Kannada movies. She won the Filmfare Award and Zee Cine Awards for Best Female Debut and SIIMA Award for Best Actress - Tamil.

Hansika Motwani was born on 9 August 1991 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her father, Pradeep Motwani is a businessman and mother, Mona Motwani is a dermatologist. She has a brother named Prashant Motwani. She studied at the Podar International School in Mumbai and later she attended to study at the International Curriculum School in Santacruz, Mumbai. She had a great passion for acting from her childhood and eventually wanted to be a famous actress of India.

Hansika Motwani started her career as a child actress with the television serial Shaka Laka Boom Boom. She later acted in the serial Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, for which she received the Favorite Child Award at the Star Parivaar Awards. She made her film debut as a child artist in the Hindi language movie Hawa (2003) and followed by the blockbuster movie Koi...Mil Gaya (2003). Hansika made her debut at the age of 16 in a lead role in 2007 Telugu film Desamuduru, opposite Allu Arjun, which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut - South. She made her debut as a leading actress in Bollywood with the film Aap Kaa Surroor in 2007. Her Tamil debut film was Mappillai, opposite Dhanush. She was also seen in various TV commercials include Pepsi, Samsung, Hyundai Santro TV, Nirma and Bournvita.
