Payel Sarkar is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Bengali films. She also appears in the Hindi television series and television commercials. She was born on 10 February 1984 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Her father name is Ashok Kumar Sarkar and mother name is Konica Sarkar. She has a sister named Sohel Sarkar. In 2004, she completed her graduation from Jadavpur University in History.Payel Sarkar made her debut in Bengali film industry with the movie Sudhu Tumi (2004), co-stars Prosenjit Chatterjee and Koel Mallick. After two years, she appeared in the movie Bibar (2006). Her first commercial successful film was I Love You in 2007, opposite Dev. In 2009, she acted in the blockbuster Bengali movie Prem Aamar with Soham Chakraborty.
