Biography

Konidela Kalyan Babu (Known by his stage name Pawan Kalyan) is an Indian film actor, producer, director, screenwriter, writer and politician. He predominantly works in Telugu cinema. He has received several accolades, including CineMAA Awards, South Indian International Movie Awards and Santosham Film Awards. He has established himself as one of the leading actors in Telugu cinema.

Pawan Kalyan was born on 2 September 1971 in Bapatla, Andhra pradesh, India to Konidela Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi. He is the younger brother of Chiranjeevi, a popular actor turned politician and Nagendra Babu. He is also the uncle of actors Ram Charan, Varun Tej, and Sai Dharam Tej.

Pawan Kalyan made his acting debut with the Telugu movie Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi in 1996. The next year he appeared in Gokulamlo Seetha and Suswagatham. But he gained fame with the movie Tholi Prema in 1998, which earned him National Film Award and six Nandi Awards. Then he acted many commercial successful Telugu movies such as Thammudu, Badri, Kushi, Jalsa, Gabbar Singh, Attarintiki Daredi etc.
Pawan Kalyan was the brand ambassador for Pepsi cool drink in Andhra Pradesh and Hand Loom weavers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Pawan Kalyan got married for three times. He first married Nandini on 17 May 1997 and separated in 2007. Later, he dated actress Renu Desai and tied knot on 28 January 2009, but got divorced in 2015. The couple has a son Akira Nandan Konidala and daughter Aadhya Konidala. Once again Pawan Kalyan has married actress Anna Lezhneva in December 2013 and has a child.
Pawan Kalyan founded a political party called Jana Sena on 14 March 2014. In November 2016, he announced that Jana Sena will contest in 2019 general elections.
