Akkineni Nagarjuna is an Indian film actor, producer, businessman, and television presenter. He is known for his works in Telugu cinema and television. He also appeared in Tamil and Hindi films. He is often called ‘King’ of Telugu Film Industry. As an actor, Nagarjuna acted in over ninety films. He has received numerous awards and accolades, including nine state Nandi Awards, three Filmfare Awards South and a Special Mention at the National Film Awards.

Early Life and Education
Akkineni Nagarjuna was born on 29 August 1959 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Akkineni Annapurna. His parents moved to Hyderabad, when he was child. He studied at the Hyderabad Public School and then Little Flower Junior College in Hyderabad. He has done Industrial Engineering degree and obtained bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan.

Film Career
Akkineni Nagarjuna made his debut in film industry as a child actor; with the Telugu film Sudigundalu in 1967. The film was directed by veteran Adurthi Subbarao and starred his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the lead role. He made his lead role debut in 1986 with the successful Telugu movie Vikram, directed by V. Madhusudhana Rao. The next year, he acted in the Dasari Narayana Rao’s Telugu movie Majnu. In 1989, he appeared in the romantic drama film Geetanjali directed by Maniratnam, which won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. In 1996, Nagarjuna acted in the Krishna Vamsi directed film Ninne Pelladata, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and Filmfare Award for Best Film - Telugu.

Personal Life
Akkineni Nagarjuna first married to Lakshmi Daggubati, daughter of D. Ramanaidu in 1984. The couple has a son named Naga Chaitanya, who was born in 1986. In 1990, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Lakshmi Daggubati were separated. Then he married to actress Amala Akkineni in 1992. The couple has a son named Akhil Akkineni, who was born in 1994.
