Robert Downey Jr. is an American actor who has acted in numerous films and television series. He is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. He has received numerous awards and accolades, including three Golden Globe Awards, a BAFTA Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Awards. Robert Downey opened his own production company called 'Team Downey' in June 14, 2010.Robert Downey Jr. was born on April 4, 1965 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States to actors Robert Downey Sr. and Elsie Ann Ford. His father is an actor and filmmaker and his mother was an actress who appeared in his father's films. He has a older sister named Allyson Downey. He attended the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in upstate New York as a teenager.
Robert Downey Jr. made his acting debut at the age of five with his father’s film Pound in1970. As a child, he acted in the teen sci-fi comedy Weird Science (1985) and the drama Less Than Zero (1987). He made his lead role debut in the 1992 film Chaplin, which directed by Charlie Chaplin. The film was earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor and won him the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He then starred many commercial successful films such as Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man series, Tropic Thunder, The Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, The Judge and many more.
Robert Downey Jr. married to actress Deborah Falconer on May 29, 1992. The couple has a son named Indio Falconer Downey, who was born in September 1993. In April 26, 2004 Downey and Falconer finalized their divorce. He then married to producer Susan Levin on August 2005 in a Jewish ceremony at Amagansett, New York. The couple has two children; a son, Exton Elias Downey, was born in February 2012 and a daughter, Avri Roel Downey, was born in November 2014.
