Varun Dhawan is an Indian film actor. He was born on 24 April 1987 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India to father, David Dhawan and mother, Karuna Dhawan. He has an elder brother, Rohit Dhawan who is a film director. He studied at the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics and completed his HSC education from there. Then he attended at the Nottingham Trent University in United Kingdom and got a degree in Business Management. After completing education, he worked as an assistant director to Karan Johar.

Varun Dhawan made his acting debut in 2012 with the romantic comedy film Student of the Year alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, for which he received a Filmfare nomination for Best Male Debut. Two years later, he appeared in the comedy film Main Tera Hero, directed by his father, David Dhawan. The film was a remake of the Telugu film Kandireega and was produced by Balaji Motion Pictures. In 2015, He acted in three movies, including Sriram Raghavan’s crime thriller Badlapur, ABCD 2 opposite Shraddha Kapoor and action drama Dilwale, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Kriti Sanon. The next year, he appeared in his brother directional action drama film Dishoom alongside John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez.
